Smile

Smiles just seem to multiply and travel as fast as light lately: a friend sent me news of a new invention that measures the width of your smile: the smile scan. Well, at least if you are lucky enough to work for the West Japan Railway Company that has decided to check and grade how their employees smile to the customers; cameras will therefore be installed and measure the employees smiling skills. I am sure that unhappy customers have been waiting for this sensible improvement so badly that one can wonder why nobody came up with this devilish idea earlier, really. Be reassured, the area is now safely covered.

On a lighter note, it also happens that "Smile" is one of my favorite songs by Michael Bublé in his fresh and uplifting interpretation of Charlie Chaplin's original music (to which the lyrics were added in 1954).

While doing some boring TV channel hopping the other day, I came across the inevitable Michael Jackson's memorial (R.I.P. MJ, wherever your body may actually be that is) where a smile was also on the agenda - Brooke Shields saw to that, and even, EVEN, made me shed a tear, how's that for a scoop? The song "Smile" was interpreted by Jermaine Jackson on stage (how did he manage this, I do not know).

So, as Brooke Shields would say "What's up with the smile?" Well, a smile cannot hurt, right? A smile should lighten up your face, your day and the day of those around you. Better think twice before deciding to lock your smile away or hide it behind your shy hand.

We should just start practicing - off the smile scan camera reach - until it hurts, 'cause it can actually hurt, but that's another story your maxillae will be delighted to tell you.

Happy smiles to all of you :-)
